King Soopers 12/24-12/30

Here are a few highlights from the King Soopers ad:

  • Green Seedless Grapes $1/lb
  • Large Avocados $1/ea
  • King Soopers or Kroger Sour Cream or Dips $1/ea
  • Kraft Philadelphia Cream Cheese $1.25/ea, use $1/2 IP here (enter your e-mail address to have it sent to you), Final Price is $.75/ea when you buy 2

King Soopers also has a Procter & Gamble Supersaver Event going on where you get $5 off your purchase (non-P&G items) when you purchase $25 of participating P&G products. The best scenario I came up with is:

8 Pantene Shampoo and/or Conditioners on sale for $3.29/ea

= $26.32

Use 4 ($3/2) MQs found in the 12/28PG

=$14.32 OOP

Remember to pick up non P&G items for your $5 discount. PLUS you will have $26 towards your $50 for the P&G Year of Savings promo.

Coupons 101

I thought it would be a good idea to review some 'basics' that will help you learn how to use coupons more effectively and increase your savings. Today I will start out by reviewing where to find coupons.

Where do I get coupons?

COUPON INSERTS- The most common place to get coupons is in your Sunday newspaper insert. Some that you may find will be SmartSource (SS), RedPlum (RP), and Procter & Gamble (PG.) I personally will keep the entire insert and label it with the date for easy reference. I have purchased a binder and sheet protectors to keep my inserts organized. Coupon Mom has an awesome grocery coupon database that allows you to look up coupons for specific products and will refer you to the insert it is located in. Obtaining multiple copies of coupon inserts can be very beneficial for certain deals.

INTERNET PRINTABLE COUPONS (IP)- Another great source for coupons is the internet. Manufacturer's websites will sometimes have coupon offers for their products. You can also check out the following websites for IPs:
RedPlum
SmartSource
Coupons
Please keep in mind that some stores will not accept IPs. In my case the only place I have run into that does not take them is Rite-Aid.

E-COUPONS- These are coupons that can be loaded onto your various store loyalty cards and come off automatically at checkout. They are easy to use and I have not had a problem with them. Websites I use are:
Shortcuts
Cellfire
P&G eSaver

STORE COUPONS- Some stores provide their own store coupons vs. manufacturer's coupons (MQ.) The great thing about store coupons is that they can be combined with a MQ on the same purchase to give you an even greater discount. If you are using a store and MQ it is best to provide the MQ first so that you avoid beeps from the computer. You CANNOT combine two MQ's towards one product.

BLINKIES- These are little 'blinking' machines that are located on the shelves next to the products that spit out coupons. I like to pick up a few and save them. Often times if you wait you can combine them with a sale for great savings.

OTHER- You can also sign up for various newsletters and receive coupons in the mail from them. I have a separate 'junk' e-mail address that I use for these. I have received some great samples and coupons this way.

I hope this helps get you started. If you have any questions feel free to e-mail me at sassysavingchica@gmail.com or leave a comment below.
